Talbot Co. GC to Focus on Modernized Iconic PA Garden at Feb 25 Lecture

Talbot County Garden Club invites you to a free public lecture by Samantha Nestory, engagement manager of Stoneleigh, a natural garden in Villanova, PA. Nestory’s talk is titled “Gardens Alive: Elevating Our Landscapes through Ecology.” Her presentation takes place at the Talbot County Free Library in Easton on Tuesday, February 25 at 11 am as part of the garden club’s complimentary 2025 Winter Lecture Series, open to the public.
Stoneleigh is a revered estate garden that has been transformed by modern horticulture, which is increasingly focused on creating gardens that support wildlife through native plants and sustainable landscape practices. At Stoneleigh, beauty and biodiversity became the pillars for transforming this former estate garden into a resilient garden that nurtures the natural world.
Come to this lecture to…

  • Explore the diverse and creative ways native plants are used at Stoneleigh.
  • Learn how ecology plays into garden design and management.
  • Appreciate how even incremental changes in the landscape can impact our native wildlife in significant ways.

As engagement manager at Stoneleigh, Nestory develops educational programs, coordinates public events and manages volunteers. She previously worked in ecological horticulture at both the University of Pennsylvania’s Morris Arboretum and at Stoneleigh. She is passionate about alerting the community to the value of native plants, insects and the vital ecology of our region.
