Talbot Community Connections Hosts “Maltreatment Across the Lifespan” Symposium
Talbot Community Connections is hosting a Symposium, “Maltreatment Across the Lifespan,” on Thursday, May 18, 2023, from 8:00am to 1:00pm at the Talbot County Community Center on Route 50 in Easton, Maryland. The Symposium, hosted by Talbot Community Connections, Inc. and Talbot County Department of Social Services, is open to community members and professionals wishing to learn more about the maltreatment of children and vulnerable adults, as well as to gain information on prevention and healing from trauma.
Sessions during the half-day event will include such topics as “ABCs of Child Maltreatment,” “ABCs of Adult Protective Services,” ”Who’s Under the Mask? An exploration of Scams,” “Recognizing Art as a Creative Process for Healing,” “Empower Me! Prevention Program,” and ”ACEs – Adverse Childhood Experiences.” The symposium registration fee will provide three Social Work CEUs and will include a complimentary continental breakfast. There will be the opportunity for participants to visit vendor tables throughout the morning to gather additional information on support services across the lifespan.
Proceeds from the event help to fund the unmet needs that are fundamental to the safety, security, health, and well-being of Talbot County’s children and adults. Talbot Community Connections (TCC), a nonprofit arm of the Talbot County Department of Social Services, has the mission to raise and distribute funds to help keep families together, support children in foster care, and support the elderly so they can remain independent, safe, and healthy members of our communities.
The cost of the Symposium is $25 per person and pre-registration is required by May 10, 2023.
