Registration is Live For Easton’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Easton will celebrate its community and Irish heritage once again during the Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 17th. The festivities include the parade at 5:30pm and the popular St. Patrick’s Day Potato Races right after the parade. Many businesses and organizations will decorate golf carts to show their Irish spirit and decorating skills. Judges will also vote for the Best Decorated Cart trophy.
The parade route starts on West Dover Street, heads east on Dover, turns onto North Harrison Street, then left onto Goldsborough, left onto North Washington Street, down Federal Street, and ends on North West Street, returning to West Dover. Staging will take place at the District Court parking lot on West Dover Street.
The St. Patrick’s Day Potato Races, sponsored by Young Professionals of Talbot County, will take place on Washington Street immediately after the parade. Watch as teams of four relay down the street while balancing a potato on a wooden spoon and passing their potato to teammates at relay points. The winning team’s name will be engraved on the race trophy.
“The energy in downtown Easton is wonderful during St. Patrick’s Day,” said Holly DeKarske, Executive Director of Easton EDC. “Our community really shows their creativity for the parade, and everyone always gets really into the potato races. We’re happy to be a part of it.”
