June 2: The Caroline County Garden Club invites members of the public to join them on a bus trip to Mount Vernon to explore George Washington’s home and gardens, and to experience activities celebrating the 250th Anniversary of the United States. The cost is $125 and includes coach bus transportation, a private, docent-led tour of the recently renovated mansion, admission to the grounds, gardens and outbuildings, Visitor and Education Center, and access to “Patriots Path,” a Revolutionary War encampment. Lunch is on your own on the site, snacks will be provided. Bus departs the Denton Food Lion parking lot at 8:15 AM, the Route 50/404 Park and Ride at 8:40 AM.
