Talbot County Chamber Relaunches Foundation to Strengthen Workforce, Career Pathways, and Small Business Support
The Talbot County Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the renewed launch of the Talbot Chamber Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to creating pathways, strengthening business, and supporting the future of Talbot County’s workforce and business community.
With a renewed focus on workforce development, apprenticeships and internships, career pathways, entrepreneurship, leadership development, and small business support, the Foundation will help connect local talent, employers, educators, and community partners around programs that strengthen Talbot County’s economy.
“The future of our business community depends on the people we prepare, support, and connect today,” said Amy Kreiner, President & CEO of the Talbot County Chamber of Commerce. “The Talbot Chamber Foundation gives us a dedicated vehicle to invest in workforce solutions, career exposure, leadership development, and opportunities that help both individuals and businesses grow.”
The Foundation’s areas of focus include:
Workforce Development — supporting programs that help prepare individuals for meaningful employment and connect employers with local talent.
Apprenticeships & Internships — helping build career-connected learning opportunities that expose students, young professionals, and job seekers to local industries.
Career Pathways — strengthening connections between education, training, and employment opportunities in Talbot County.
Entrepreneurship & Small Business Support — encouraging innovation, business ownership, and resources for emerging and existing small businesses.
Leadership Development — cultivating future leaders who are prepared to serve, grow, and contribute to the local community.
Community Partnerships — working collaboratively with businesses, schools, nonprofits, government partners, and community organizations to create lasting impact.
The Talbot Chamber Foundation is currently seeking dedicated individuals to serve on its board of directors. Ideal board members may include business leaders, educators, nonprofit professionals, workforce development partners, and community members who are passionate about creating opportunity and strengthening Talbot County’s business community. The Chamber will host a Board Interest Meeting on Tuesday, July 21, from 3–4pm at the Talbot County Chamber of Commerce offices, with a Zoom option available for those unable to attend in person.
The Foundation’s renewed tagline, “Creating Pathways. Strengthening Business.”, reflects its mission to build connections between people, skills, opportunity, and economic growth.
“Talbot County has an incredible business community, but we also know employers are facing real workforce challenges,” Kreiner added. “Through the Foundation, we can help launch new programs, support partnerships, and invest in solutions that benefit our businesses, our residents, and our local economy.”
Chamber-led fundraising will also support the Foundation, including the Shoot for Success Sporting Clays Tournament on Friday, October 2, 2026, at The Point at Pintail. Tournament proceeds will directly support the Foundation’s workforce development, career pathways, apprenticeship, internship, entrepreneurship, and small business initiatives.
