Registration Begins For Easton’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Easton will celebrate Irish heritage and community during its Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 17th. The festivities include the Parade at 5:30pm and the local favorite St. Patrick’s Day Potato Races immediately following the parade. Many businesses and organizations will decorate golf carts showcasing their Irish spirit and decorating talents. Judges will also vote for the Best Decorated Cart trophy winner.
This year to secure and provide golf carts for the parade, the Easton EDC has had to rent them from a regional vendor. 40 carts are available. Easton EDC would like to thank sponsor Fred Frederick Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Easton for their help in sponsoring a portion of the rentals. We will have 20 spaces available for additional non-float entries including cars, trucks, etc. The staging lot is small and too restrictive for floats.
The parade loop starts on West Dover Street, heads East on Dover, turns onto North Harrison Street, left on Goldsborough, left to North Washington Street, down Federal Street, and concludes on North West Street and back to West Dover.
The St. Patrick’s Day Potato Races, sponsored by Young Professionals of Talbot County, will take place on Washington Street immediately following the parade. Watch as teams of four relay down the street while balancing a potato on a wooden spoon and transferring their potato to teammates at relay points. The first-place team will have their name engraved on the race trophy.
