Tides of Grace invites families from across Maryland’s Eastern Shore to come together for Family Fun Day 2026, taking place Saturday, September 12, from 2:00–5:00pm at the Caroline County 4-H Park in Denton, Maryland. While the event is being held in Caroline County, Family Fun Day is truly an Eastern Shore community event, welcoming families from Talbot, Queen Anne’s, Caroline, Kent, Dorchester and surrounding counties. More than 700 people joined Tides of Grace for Family Fun Day last year, and this year the nonprofit has rented the entire Caroline County 4-H Park to make room for an even bigger celebration. Best of all, admission, activities, entertainment and refreshments are completely free for families.

On September 19, the Tuckahoe Equestrian Center (TEC) is the site for this 14th annual event to raise funds for The Red Devils, a Maryland nonprofit organization who provide life enhancing support services to breast cancer patients and their families while undergoing treatment.

On Saturday, September 26th, the Talbot County community will once again gather to celebrate the life and legacy of abolitionist, writer, and orator Frederick Douglass, one of the most important figures in Maryland’s history and in the story of our nation. Born into slavery in Talbot County in 1818, Douglass went on to become a nationally renowned speaker and writer whose powerful anti-slavery advocacy helped propel the abolitionist movement forward. This year’s celebration carries an added significance, as it marks the 15th anniversary of the Frederick Douglass statue in front of the Talbot County Courthouse — a project that brought the community together to honor and preserve a shared history.

Mid Shore Behavioral Health, Inc. (MSBH), in partnership with the mid-shore health departments of Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s, and Talbot Counties, is proud to announce the seventh annual “The Mid-Shore is Going Purple Together” event, taking place on Saturday, September 26th from 11:00am to 2:00pm at Moton Park in Easton, MD.

Small businesses and private nonprofit organizations in Talbot County may be eligible for low-interest federal disaster loans through the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to help offset economic losses caused by the frost and freeze that occurred on April 21.

The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum is proud to highlight the Eastern Shore’s unique culture and community at Watermen’s Appreciation Day on Sunday, Aug. 9, from 10am-4pm.

Registration is open for the Women & Girls Fund’s 14th Annual Golf Tournament on Monday, September 14, at Talbot Country Club in Easton. Open to women golfers from beginners to veterans, the day features a buffet lunch and 9-hole tournament.
