The Talbot County Garden Club announces its 2024 winter lecture series featuring opportunities for you to learn the most current local and regional approaches to florals and gardens. Presenters will offer expert insights and tips that you can apply at home and in your own private garden.

Mary Kramer of “Mother Mary’s Creations” and Deanna Pratt of “Ethel Mae Studio” are thrilled to announce the opening of their shared creative artists’ workspace: Open Studio of Easton on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. The grand opening is scheduled for Saturday, January 6, 2024, from 11am to 6pm.

Give yourself a post-holiday gift and join Chesapeake Forum on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024 at 3:30pm at the Academy Art Museum in Easton to see what ahead for winter. The Easton Police Department is excited to announce its first Community Police Academy. The goal of this program is to educate the public about the Easton Police Department and to increase the rapport between community members and police officers.

Upper Shore Aging (USA) was recently awarded a 2023 Thome Aging Well grant to support the expansion of its diabetes education program for seniors. The goal of the grant project is to use the more than 84,000 Meals on Wheels meals delivered annually through USA as a vehicle for diabetes/health screening and education, social connection, and engagement in Senior Center services.

On Sunday, December 17th the Tilghman United Methodist Church is hosting a Christmas Concert of local musicians. The concert features vocalist Beth Ann Dorman of Four All Seasons accompanied by Melinda Finlay singing a selection of Christmas and Holiday songs. Opening the evening is vocalist and flutist Ashton Mooday of Salisbury accompanied by JoAnn Kelley of Tilghman. We will end with music by David Miller and a few carols for all.

Grace Street and the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office this week announced a Christmas shopping program for children and teens affected by substance use in Talbot County.

Engage East End, the project website for the East End Small Area Plan, is now live and available to the public. Engage East End is the public interface that gives citizens project information, opportunities to ask questions, respond to surveys, take polls, and learn about upcoming events. The website also gives citizens the option to create an account to receive email notifications. Alternative language options, including Spanish, are available.

Come experience the changing of the seasons at Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) by participating in our Guided Birding tour. You don’t need to be an expert to enjoy identifying and learning about the many species of birds that inhabit the refuge.
