Ribbon Cutting for New Playground Equipment at Golton Park
The community is invited to celebrate the official ribbon cutting for newly-installed play equipment at Golton Park. This special event marks the completion of significant park improvements designed to enhance recreation and outdoor enjoyment for local children and families.
The ribbon cutting will take place on Tuesday, May 5, at 11am at the Golton Park Playground located at 29416 Golton Drive, Easton, MD 21601.
“We’re so excited to be able to officially celebrate the installation of the new play equipment at this park,” said Lorraine Gould, Town of Easton Director of Parks and Recreation. “This is a truly awesome space for kids and families, and we are extremely pleased with how it turned out. We hope everyone can join us for the opening and some much anticipated play time!”
The Golton Park improvements were made possible through a grant from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, which awarded $155,901 to support the renovations. The funding covered the installation of all-new play equipment, including swings, benches, and a primary play structure that features climbing areas, monkey bars, slides, and a variety of interactive games and activities.
The funds were provided through the Community Parks and Playgrounds Program, a statewide initiative that supports the creation of new parks and the rehabilitation and enhancement of existing recreational spaces. These Golton Park upgrades bring newer, more up-to-date, and safer equipment to this Easton community.
The event is free to attend and is open to all who wish to participate. For more information, please contact Lorraine Gould at lgould@eastonmd.gov.
