St. Michaels Community Center Receives New Bike Racks Through Community Partnership

The St. Michaels Community Center (SMCC) is pleased to announce the installation of new bicycle racks at both the Community Center (103 Railroad Ave.) and Treasure Cove Thrift Shop (100 N. Talbot St.), thanks to the generosity of the Rotary Club of St. Michaels and the expertise of Easton Cycle and Sport.
The new bike racks provide a safe and convenient place for cyclists to park while visiting the Community Center, shopping at Treasure Cove, or participating in local programs and events. The project reflects a shared commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles, active transportation, and community accessibility.
“Other members and I often ride our bikes to our weekly club meetings at the center”, said Bonnie Morris, President of the Rotary Club of St. Michaels. “Having convenient racks where people can park and secure their bikes is one more way of encouraging people to ride their bicycles, be outdoors and live healthy lifestyles.”
“We are grateful to the Rotary Club of St. Michaels for making this project possible and to Easton Cycle and Sport for their professional installation,” said Amy Horne, Executive Director of St. Michaels Community Center. “Cycling is an important part of life on the Mid-Shore, and these bike racks help make our campus a welcoming stop for residents and visitors alike.”
The new bike racks complement amenities already available at SMCC, including public restrooms and a water fountain with a bottle-filling station. Together, these features make the Community Center a welcoming and convenient stop for cyclists traveling through St. Michaels and throughout the Bay Hundred.
