The Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra continues its 2025–2026 Ensembles Series with a set of chamber music concerts taking place February 6 through 8 across Maryland and Delaware. Featuring works by Franz Schubert, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Krzysztof Penderecki, the program highlights the artistry of the MSO’s principal musicians in an intimate chamber setting.

Get outside this winter and spring by participating in a free guided birding tour at Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge (NWR). Throughout the winter, waterfowl and raptors, including bald eagles, are plentiful, while spring brings in migratory warblers and shorebirds. Guided birding tours are scheduled for February 1, February 15, February 22, March 1, March 22, March 29, April 4, April 19, and May 3, 2026.

Please join us on February 28th at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Easton for the 2026 Talbot County Empty Bowls Community Dinner to benefit Talbot County food pantries. Talbot County Empty Bowls has the joint mission of raising funds for and building awareness of hunger in our community, fighting to end hunger one bowl at a time.

The Easton Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) will celebrate the 250 years of our nation by presenting a reenactment of Rosie the Riveter at 10:30am on Saturday March 7 at the Talbot County Free Library in Easton. Mary Ann Jung will present the story of Rossie the Riveter through the eyes of Rose Leigh Monroe who, during World War II, worked at the largest aircraft factory in the world-Willow Run Michigan. Mary Ann Jung is an award-winning actress and Smithsonian Scholar who performs delightful and inspiring shows about many amazing women in history. AAUW’s Easton Branch has been empowering, inspiring, educating and advocating for women for 68 years, and the national organization has been a leading voice promoting education equity and opportunity for women and girls since 1881 will celebrate our nation’s anniversary by recognizing the importance of women throughout the 250 years. The program is open to the public.

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources and Sport Fisheries Advisory Commission are seeking nominations for the annual Maryland Sport Fisheries Achievement Award, a celebration of conservation, education, and sportsmanship. This prestigious honor recognizes individuals who have worked to improve efforts in habitat management, conservation, education, research, or made other meaningful contributions that benefit fish and recreational fishing in Maryland.
Nominations for the Maryland Sport Fisheries Achievement Award are being accepted now through January 31, 2026. Recipients will receive a proclamation signed by the Secretary of the Department of Natural Resources and the chair of the Sport Fisheries Advisory Commission.

Tred Avon Players proudly announces its 45th season, bringing an exciting lineup of live theater to Maryland’s Eastern Shore. January is National Human Trafficking Awareness Month, and the January 2026 theme emphasizes a holistic approach to prevention—connecting trafficking to other forms of violence and social vulnerabilities, while recognizing how technology, economic factors, and community resilience can either increase risk or help disrupt exploitation. On Maryland’s Eastern Shore, traffickers often take advantage of the region’s proximity to major metropolitan areas and three international airports, its location along a heavily traveled East Coast highway corridor, and the steady flow of visitors and seasonal workers tied to hospitality, farming, and fishing. Throughout the month, For All Seasons will lead a series of free training sessions and community education efforts across the Mid-Shore to help residents and professionals recognize red flags, strengthen online safety, and learn how to report concerns and connect people to support.
