Her love of books started like so many of us – reading under the covers with a flashlight well past her bedtime. But for Shauna Beulah of Federalsburg, her passion for reading became more than a hobby, leading her to become the first paid Branch Manager of the St. Michaels Branch of the Talbot County Free Library (TCFL) in 1986 – a job she will be retiring from this spring. Her 40-year legacy culminates with the newly expanded library opening its doors on March 21.

The Cambridge Woman’s Club is hosting an Historic Fashion Show, featuring clothing styles from colonial times, the 1900s, and through the 1970s. The event will take place on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 2 to 4pm at the Club’s clubhouse, located at 417 High Street in Cambridge, Maryland.

There are few better ways to start the spring season than by grabbing a tote bag and heading down to the St. Michaels Farmers Market (SMFM) in St. Michaels. For nearly three decades, the small-but-mighty market has served as a beloved community gathering that brings the freshest fruits, vegetables, eggs, meats, seafood, flowers, baked goods—even booze—to the Talbot County community, and beyond. And starting on April 11, it will return to showcase the region’s bounty for its 29th season. Located in the public parking lot behind Pemberton’s Pharmacy at 206 S. Talbot Street, it will operate rain or shine on Saturday mornings between 8:30 and 11:30am through November 21.

In celebration of America 250, visitors joining the TALBOT COUNTY TOUR of the MARYLAND HOUSE & GARDEN PILGRIMAGE will experience an array of stellar homes, gardens and nationally significant historic sites on Saturday, May 9 from 10 am to 5 pm, rain or shine.

The Leverton Hubbard Foundation in partnership with the Caroline County Historical Society will host Land, Legacy and Freedom: Native American Strength Shapes a Nation, at historic Linchester Mill Campus in Preston, Maryland, featuring local tribal communities, The Nause-Waiwash Band of Indians and The Pocomoke Indian Nation, whose histories are deeply rooted in Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

The Talbot County Commission on Aging is now accepting vendor applications for the 2026 Senior Resource Fair, scheduled for Wednesday, May 20 from 10am to 1pm at the Easton Volunteer Fire Department.
